Project Update: August 26, 2022

08.29.2022

Next week you can expect to see continued activity at three work sites along the project route.

One new work site will be opened on Southern Artery between Greenleaf Street and Russell Park. Here contractors will begin excavation for the first of two manhole installations at this location. Please note that traffic will be maintained in both directions during construction. For more detail on the manhole installation traffic management plan for this work site, please click here.

Three other crews will work on excavation, duct bank installation and test pit work. The two crews on Newport Avenue will continue working between N. Central Avenue and Morgan Road.

Later in the week, the test pit crew will begin test pit activity on Furnace Brook Parkway between Lafayette Street and Hancock Street in advance of upcoming duct bank installation on the street.

As always, we ask that drivers and pedestrians remain mindful of lane shifts, posted traffic signage, and the direction of police details stationed around these work zones.

Please know that construction is scheduled to minimize the impact on traffic and everyday life; sections of your street will likely only be impacted by the construction for weeks—not years. That said, we understand that construction doesn’t always feel “short-term” when it’s in front of your home or business. As work begins in your area, we will continue to work to mitigate inconveniences that come up to the greatest extent feasible. Please let us know about upcoming deliveries, schedules, and events that could be impacted by work.
