Project Update: December 23, 2022
12.23.2022
Please note that barring inclement weather, our crews plan to continue working at our current work sites on Newport Avenue next week. There will be no construction on Monday, December 26 and Monday, January 2 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
As a reminder, in the event of plowable snowfall or extreme cold, these two crews will be prepared to shift to their work locations to Furnace Brook Parkway (between Hancock Street and Southern Artery). When the abovementioned work begins, the street will be closed to through traffic during duct bank installation on the street. That said, residential and emergency vehicle traffic will be allowed and facilitated with the help of police details.
As always, we ask that drivers and pedestrians remain mindful of lane shifts, posted traffic signage, and the direction of police details stationed around these work zones.

Please know that construction is scheduled to minimize the impact on traffic and everyday life; sections of your street will likely only be impacted by the construction for weeks—not years. That said, we understand that construction doesn’t always feel “short-term” when it’s in front of your home or business. As work begins in your area, we will continue to work to mitigate inconveniences that come up to the greatest extent feasible. Please let us know about upcoming deliveries, schedules, and events that could be impacted by work.
