Project Update: January 13, 2023

01.13.2023

Next week you can expect to see continued duct bank excavation and installation on Furnace Brook Parkway (between Hancock Street and Lafayette Street), Newport Avenue (between W. Squantum Street and Wilson Avenue) and near the intersection of Field Street and Morrison Street.

Please note that while excavation is taking place, a portion of Field Street may be closed to through traffic. As construction progresses onto the eastern end of Morrison Street, the western end of the street will remain open for businesses and residents.

As always, we ask that drivers and pedestrians remain mindful of lane shifts, posted traffic signage, and the direction of police details stationed around these work zones.

  3. Duct bank installation on Furnace Brook Parkway between Hancock Street and Lafayette Street

Week of January 23: Construction Activity

  1. Duct bank installation at the intersection of Field Street and Morrison Street
  2. Duct bank installation on Newport Avenue between W. Squantum Street and Wilson Avenue (*if weather and temperatures allow)
  3. Duct bank installation on Furnace Brook Parkway between Hancock Street and Lafayette Street

Please know that construction is scheduled to minimize the impact on traffic and everyday life; sections of your street will likely only be impacted by the construction for weeks—not years. That said, we understand that construction doesn’t always feel “short-term” when it’s in front of your home or business. As work begins in your area, we will continue to work to mitigate inconveniences that come up to the greatest extent feasible. Please let us know about upcoming deliveries, schedules, and events that could be impacted by work.
