Next week can expect to see construction activity at work sites on Southern Artery. You may also notice intermittent work at various locations along the project route. Please note that contractors are utilizing nights and Saturdays to extend the work week, dewater and expedite construction.

National Grid Gas’ work to replace existing mains along Newport Avenue as has paused for approximately two weeks. When work resumes, you can expect to see activity between 541 and 627 Newport Avenue.

As always, we ask that drivers and pedestrians remain mindful of lane shifts, posted traffic signage, and the direction of police details stationed around these work zones.

Please know that construction is scheduled to minimize the impact on traffic and everyday life; sections of your street will likely only be impacted by the construction for weeks—not years. That said, we understand that construction doesn’t always feel “short-term” when it’s in front of your home or business.
