Project Update: October 27, 2023

10.27.2023

As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping you informed, we'd like to provide an update on the construction activities for the North Quincy Cable Project.

Work Sites and Schedule:

Next week, you can expect to see cable installation activities at various work sites including Southern Artery and Furnace Brook Parkway. Please be aware that our contractors are working diligently, utilizing nights and Saturdays to extend the work week. This is being done to expedite construction and ensure minimal disruption.

Regarding National Grid Gas:

National Grid Gas’ work to replace existing mains along Newport Avenue has been temporarily paused. When work resumes, you can anticipate activity between 541 and 627 Newport Avenue.

Safety and Consideration:

We kindly ask all drivers and pedestrians to remain vigilant around these work zones. Please adhere to lane shifts, follow posted traffic signage, and heed the guidance of police details stationed in the area.

  • Night work: Cable pulling at Southern Artery manhole locations
  • Night work: Cable work at various locations along the route
