Project Update: October 28, 2022
10.28.2022
Next week you can expect to see construction activity at three main work sites on Newport Avenue (between Newport Terrace and Warren Avenue, between Beale Street and Brook Avenue and between N. Central Avenue and Hobart Street).
As previously mentioned, the work taking place on Newport Avenue in the area of Beale Street and Brook Street requires an overnight work schedule per the direction of local safety officials. Construction hours at this work site are 7:30pm to 5:30am, Sunday evening to Friday morning.
Over the next two weeks daytime work will continue on Newport Avenue between Newport Terrace and Warren Avenue as contractors complete the installation of underground duct bank on each side of the manhole location on this part of the street.
Elsewhere along the route, at our third work site on Newport Avenue, daytime duct bank installation will continue and progress in the direction of Wilson Avenue.
As always, we ask that drivers and pedestrians remain mindful of lane shifts, posted traffic signage, and the direction of police details stationed around these work zones.

Please know that construction is scheduled to minimize the impact on traffic and everyday life; sections of your street will likely only be impacted by the construction for weeks—not years. That said, we understand that construction doesn’t always feel “short-term” when it’s in front of your home or business. As work begins in your area, we will continue to work to mitigate inconveniences that come up to the greatest extent feasible. Please let us know about upcoming deliveries, schedules, and events that could be impacted by work.
