This week contractor activity will focus on Newport Avenue sidewalk, curb and apron installation and route restoration at various locations as needed. Please note that this work is progressing south on Newport and weather permitting will be working south from Beale Street by mid-week.

For approximately the next three weeks, contractor activity will focus on the abovementioned restoration work before pivoting to resurfacing work on Morrison Street and Newport Terrace in the third week of October.

We look forward to sharing more detail on the work planned for these sites in the coming weeks as schedule information for the few remaining areas of the route that have yet to be resurfaced becomes available.

As has been the case, work hours are 7:00AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Friday. We continue to ask that drivers and pedestrians remain mindful of lane shifts, posted traffic signage, and the direction of police details stationed around these work zones.

Please know that construction is scheduled to minimize the impact on traffic and everyday life; sections of your street will likely only be impacted by the construction for weeks—not years. That said, we understand that construction doesn’t always feel “short-term” when it’s in front of your home or business. As work begins in your area, we will continue to work to mitigate inconveniences to the greatest extent feasible.
