Project Update: Roadway Restoration
04.18.2025
This week you can expect to see contractor activity on Newport Avenue from Furnace Brook Parkway to Warren Avenue as contractors apply temporary lane markings, reclaim and restore this section of the route. Please note that work hours are 7:00AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Friday.
As always, we ask that drivers and pedestrians remain mindful of lane shifts, posted traffic signage, and the direction of police details stationed around these work zones.
Week of April 21: Construction Activity
Phase 1 Roadway Restoration - Temporary lane marking.
Phase 2 Roadway Restoration - Monday through Wednesday Newport Avenue asphalt reclamation from George Road to Warren Avenue. Thursday through Friday, road grading and binder paving.
Week of April 28: Construction Activity
Phase 2 Roadway Restoration - Monday through Wednesday, Newport Avenue asphalt reclamation from Warren Avenue to Newport Terrace. Thursday and Friday, road grading and binder paving.
Please know that construction is scheduled to minimize the impact on traffic and everyday life; sections of your street will likely only be impacted by the construction for weeks—not years. That said, we understand that construction doesn’t always feel “short-term” when it’s in front of your home or business. As work begins in your area, we will continue to work to mitigate inconveniences to the greatest extent feasible. Please let us know about upcoming deliveries, schedules, and events that could be impacted by work.
