Project Update: Roadway Restoration

Roadway Restoration Update
As we approach the last stages of our road restoration work for the North Quincy Cable Project, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation throughout the duration of our work.
As you know, the objective of this project was to replace two 50 year old underground electric transmission cables that form the backbone of the transmission grid in Quincy. This new, modern cable system is now powering the substations which deliver power to homes and business in your neighborhood.
As mentioned, our work is not yet complete. In the coming weeks, paving contractors plan to repave the section of Newport Avenue between Furnace Brook Parkway and Beale Street. We look forward to providing more detail on that schedule as more information becomes available. Until then you may notice intermittent contractor activity at various section of the project route.
As always, please remain alert to lane shifts, posted traffic signage, and the direction of police details within and around the work zone.
