Next week you can expect to see construction activity at two main work sites on Newport Avenue (between S. Central Avenue and Morgan Road and between Beale Street and Brook Avenue).
At both work sites, crews will be excavating and installing duct bank to connect previously installed manholes on the street.
Please note that the work taking place on Newport Avenue between Beale Street and Brook Street requires an overnight work schedule per the direction of local safety officials. Construction hours at this work site are 7:30pm to 5:30am, Monday through Thursday.
Regular daytime construction hours will continue to be in place at our other work site on Newport Avenue (between S. Central Avenue and Morgan Road).
As always, we ask that drivers and pedestrians remain mindful of lane shifts, posted traffic signage, and the direction of police details stationed around these work zones.

Please know that construction is scheduled to minimize the impact on traffic and everyday life; sections of your street will likely only be impacted by the construction for weeks—not years. That said, we understand that construction doesn’t always feel “short-term” when it’s in front of your home or business. As work begins in your area, we will continue to work to mitigate inconveniences that come up to the greatest extent feasible. Please let us know about upcoming deliveries, schedules, and events that could be impacted by work.
